What a few weeks it's been for Elias Sorensen.
- 19 goals this season.
- A new improved contract.
- Scoring on his debut for his country.
- A loan deal to the seaside with Blackpool.
Of course fans say Sorensen should be training at the very least with our first team, because of the lack of goals up top but it is great move for the youngster, Benitez clearly doesn't see him this season with the first team, in the battle to stay up in the Premier League. Take a look at Sean Longstaff, he played the full season at Blackpool last campaign scoring 8 league goals and Sorensen spoke to Sean about the move, now look where the midfielder is after spells at the Tangerines & up Scotland with Kilmarnock.
Blackpool are 8th in League One and trying to reach the playoffs, so he's joining a winning side, guess who they play in February? Yep, you've guessed it, Sunderland on the 12th.
Of course he's going to be excited to be playing. It's a huge step up for him but he does have 4 goals against professional sides in the Checkatrade Trophy so why not be a hit in League One? He's a striker who doesn't have a load of touches, however he finds himself in great positions, has great awareness and can finish inside the box.
We'll keep you updated with his progress on our Facebook page.
