“It’s a funny one with Brighton because they are like our rivals - even though they are all that way down south. They got promoted with us and we won the title. It will be a fiery game and we are all up for it. We have two big games coming up, Brighton and Stoke. They are two teams we need to beat because they are in the same zone as us and they need to win. We will be looking forward to those games and I am pretty sure we will have a different game plan against them.
“We had a game plan and we stuck to it. We upset them and towards the end, in the last 20 minutes they were showing a little bit of anxiety and feeling the pressure. I thought we were pretty unlucky not to equalise. We knew what we had to do. We played five at the back and sat off them, looking to counter them. It wasn’t successful in the end but towards the end of the game we had them encamped in their own half and I thought we were pretty unlucky not to get a point.
“Dwight Gayle came on and had a good chance and maybe could have had a penalty, I’m not sure. Overall, collectively and individually I am pleased with the team. They can hold their heads up high. I thought they were excellent and that has to be our platform now in terms of character on the pitch.”
