⚽ First Half:

  • Newcastle started with intensity, pressing high and unsettling Arsenal’s rhythm. Their breakthrough came in the 17th minute when Woltemade latched onto a clever flick from Bruno Guimarães and rifled a low shot past David Raya for his first Premier League goal.

  • Arsenal responded with composure, gradually asserting control in midfield. Their equalizer arrived in the 34th minute when Mikel Merino, facing his former club, curled a precise effort from 20 yards into the bottom corner after a slick passing move involving Ødegaard and Rice.

⚔️ Second Half:

  • The second half was a tactical battle, with both sides probing for openings. Newcastle’s defense held firm until the 72nd minute, when Gabriel rose highest to meet a corner from Bukayo Saka, powering a header into the net to give Arsenal the lead.

  • Eddie Howe’s side pushed for a late equalizer, with Isak and Almirón both testing Raya, but Arsenal’s back line stood strong to seal the win.

  • Newcastle’s best opportunity came in the 25th minute when Aoife Mannion’s header from a set piece was tipped onto the bar by Whitehouse.

  • Charlton grew into the game and earned a decisive penalty just before the hour mark. Demi Stokes was adjudged to have fouled Bradley in the box, and the Charlton number seven coolly converted the spot kick into the bottom corner.

  • Despite late pressure from Newcastle—including a volley from Stokes that struck the bar and a stoppage-time one-on-one for Emily Murphy—the visitors held firm to claim all three points.
