“Hey Callum Wilson!! I wana know how you scored that goal!!”

Callum Wilson’s time at Newcastle United has officially come to end after 5 years at the club.

Speaking on the club’s website Callum Wilson left a heartfelt goodbye.

To All you Magpies

It's time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years in the Toon.

Thank you for everything. We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights.

I am so proud to have worn the iconic number 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it. Scoring at the Gallowgate End really is as special as they say.

All good things come to an end but there's no doubt Newcastle United will always have a place in mine and my families hearts.

Thank you for the memories.

1st Season

Callum Wilson is a proper number 9 who knows exactly where the goal is. He joined Newcastle in 2020 signing from Bournemouth and scored 12 goals in 26 League appearances in his first season at the toon. This included a debut goal against West Ham, a club who Wilson enjoyed a fantastic goalscoring record against throughout his career. He Scored 12 Goals in 16 games against them. He also scored his 50th Premier League goal during the season and was awarded player of the season for 20/21 Campaign.

2nd Season

In his 2nd Season in Black and white he scored 8 goals in 18 League appearances. Prior to the season he was given out Iconic number 9 shirt that has been worn by so many Newcastle United Legends. The 1st goal of our new era following the takeover was scored by Callum Wilson adding jubilation to the party atmosphere at St James Park. He would be re-united with Eddie Howe in 2021 and as the season ended he scored in a memorable (Especially for me) Final home game of the season against Arsenal.

 3rd Season

In the 2022/2023 Season Wilson scored 18 goals in 31 League Appearances. This was his best season in a Black and White shirt and helped us qualify for the Champions League. His form at the end of season was sensational as he scored 8 times in April including another 2 against West Ham. He was also part of the England world cup squad making his World Cup debut against Wales.

4th Season

The 2023/24 Season saw Callum score 9 goals in 20 League Appearances and made his Champions League debut for us off the bench against Ac Milan at the Iconic San Siro. His 100th game for Newcastle came in the League Cup Penalty defeat against Chelsea and moved into 2nd place on our all-time Premier League top scorers list behind the legend that is Alan Shearer.

5th and Final Season

Our number 9 didn’t score a single goal in the 2024/25 season but with his 18 league appearances, as well as playing in the cup he was part of the most successful season in the lives of many for Newcastle, as we lifted the League Cup against Liverpool and qualified for the Champions League for the 2nd time in 3 seasons.

Thank you, Callum Wilson,

Callum Wilson’s time at Newcastle was hit with Injuries but still managed to score 49 goals in 130 competitive appearances.

He was crucial to Newcastle United staying in the top flight before the takeover and his goals in the 2022/2023 and the battle up front with Isak for that striker position was a big factor in us returning to the top table of European football and being able to taste the Champions League so early in our new era for the club.

We can only imagine how many goals he would have scored for us if he stayed fit but his goals were crucial to our transition from mid table mediocrity to regular European Qualification challengers.

Thank you, Callum Wilson, for all your goals, All the moments and for doing justice to the number 9 shirt.
