Head to head: Home v Crystal Palace

Statistics suggest that Newcastle United have been dominant as far as previous encounters against Crystal Palace are concerned.

Prior to the 2018/19 season, Palace had a poor record on their travels to Tyneside having won one in the previous 16 visits. However, in April 2019, the record improved after a Luka Milivojevic penalty secured their first win at St. James' Park since March 1998 - something that helped was that Palace had an excellent away record in the 2018/19 season, winning nine from the 19 league games including a win over eventual title winners, Manchester City.

Palace's main threat is undoubtedly the quality of Wilfried Zaha. The Eagles' record without Zaha speaks volumes as to how much they need the Ivorian international at the club. A huge challenge facing Roy Hodgson in the near future will be trying to keep his main man at the club during the January transfer window especially considering Zaha has expressed his want to play in the Champions League.
