It’s hardly encouraging is it? It’s negative, negative, negative. The season hasn’t started well, you feel it isn’t going to get much better and things don’t seem like they’re going to change and Mike Ashley can not and will not - I say will not - should not sack Rafa Benitez. That’s an absolute no, no. They’ve just to got to somehow try and stay up this season but it doesn’t bode well; they’re a side low on confidence.
"I think it’s difficult for Benitez to be in a position where he guesses what is going to happen. I think great credit to him that he actually showed loyalty through the situation when the owner hasn’t spent money. They were always going to be up against it this season. I don’t think he could have expected the start to go this bad but it’s the circumstances and it’s just going to get messier and messier and there’s going to be more disgruntled fans the longer the season goes on. It won’t be Benitez getting the blame; because he wanted money to spend and he hasn’t had substantial funds to spend in the summer so Newcastle fans are quite right to feel aggrieved. "
