My best and worst everything NUFC

Another article inspired by Kyle, I thought I'd talk about my favourite and least favourite things in my time following Newcastle United and I will be keeping it to from my first Toon game in January 2009. Favourite game - 1-0 v Anzhi Makhachkala (14/03/2013) I thought I'd start with my favourite Magpies game and for this one, I'm going to go with the 1-0 win over Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League in March 2013. With the score 0-0 in Russia a week earlier, it had been a

    Some bullets we've dodged

I know that all the talk is about takeover that looks like it's about to happen but following on from my article about players we forgot signed for us and the one about the top players we were linked with but didn't sign, let's talk about some other players we were linked with, never signed but this time in doing so, dodged a bullet. Luís Boa Morte Despite signing a new contract with Fulham in January 2005, Luís Boa Morte was still interested in a move up north and Graeme Sou

Some players we forgot signed for Newcastle

Another article I've decided to do during this pandemic and this time, we'll be looking at players we forgot signed for Newcastle. We won't be including academy graduates who didn't make many first team appearances before leaving as we'd be here all day, it will be senior players signed from other clubs but hardly played and I won't include Achraf Lazaar or Henri Saivet as they're still on the books here. Anyway, let's have look at some of our forgotten men. Jesús Gámez I had

Rafa Benitez's tenure at Newcastle in review

Following the news that Rafa Benitez is on his way out of Newcastle, I will be reviewing his tenure on Tyneside. This isn't an article I wanted to do now but I will be doing a similar one when Mike Ashley leaves. When Rafa arrived on Tyneside to replace Steve McClaren, the club was on it's knees and sitting 19th despite spending approximately £80m in the two transfer windows. Things didn't start well for the Spaniard though as only one point from his first four games (includi

    2017/18 season review

The first players to leave us in the summer were Vurnon Anita, Sammy Ameobi, Lubomir Satka and Haris Vuckic, who were all released at the end of their contracts. It took a while to make our first signing as Florian Lejeune finally arrived from Eibar on 4 July whilst Graham Carr left his role as chief scout and Matz Sels joined Anderlecht on loan. Later that week, we were linked with wingers Sheyi Ojo, Jesus Navas, Adama Traore and Jacob Murphy and the latter was signed from N

Stoke 0-1 Newcastle | Match Report

Newcastle gained their second consecutive away win for the first time since November 2014 on Monday when they beat Stoke City 1-0 via an Ayoze Perez goal at the Bet365 Stadium pushing Newcastle further up the table to 13th place and at the time of the final whistle giving them a four point lead over the drop zone. Lineups Rafa Benitez kicked off the year with a very attacking lineup in a 4-5-1 formation with wingers Ritchie, Murphy and Atsu all starting and Spaniard Ayoze Per

BBC correspondent Pat Murphy praises Rafa Benitez & the fans

“They love Rafa Benitez anyway. Their fans are fantastic. They play in front of 50,000 plus at home and Benitez is very, very good with the crowd. He is the star, more than any of their players on their pay roll. Benitez is the man who will keep them up. He got them up last year, he’s a terrific manager. He’s a Champions League winner, for heaven’s sake. “That’s why the Geordie fans love him so much. He’s batting below, if you like, his average, he’s that good. He should be a

Newcastle 2-1 Stoke City | Match Report

Jamaal Lascelles was once again Newcastle's hero on Saturday when they were victorious over a very strong Stoke City side. The win means that it's the first time since the 2000-01 season that Newcastle have won 3 out of their first 5 premiership games and the first time that they've won 3 in a row since late 2014. However, the toon could've actually lost this game, but they also could've won by a lot more.. Lineups DeAndre Yedlin made his first start of the season after comin
