Loan Round up from Newcastle United

5 min read

We are already in the middle of the first international so we thought would have a bit of an update on our players out on loan. This doesn't include Vlachodimos or Harriaon Ashby as I don't think there's any chance they will play for us again

There is a video on the channel which you can check out at the bottom of this article. That video was created last week so will not include Munda and Cordero's games from yesterday

Anthony Munda
Anthony Munda

First to Anthony Munda who is on Loan at Swindon town. Munda has had a mixed bag in his Loan at Swindon town. He has got 2 assists and a couple of 7 plus match ratings but also Swindon have also been inconsistent and conceding a lot of goals. He has played 7 games and all but one of them for at least 70 minutes so Munda is definitely getting the game time which is a massive positive. When I had a look through AI to see what Swindon town fans were saying. Fans have warmly embraced the young midfielder, praising his energy, athleticism, and his ability to quickly adjust to the physical demands of senior football. Local media reports from the Swindon Advertiser have highlighted his role as a crucial component filling the void in their depleted midfield. Also When speaking to one of the drivers on the Bus service that I use who is a Swindon Town Season ticket holder he said “Could see his class straight away” When he was talking about Munda’s performance in the 2-1 Win over Cheltenham.

Rory Finneran
Rory Finneran

Next to a player who many believe is an excellent prospect Rory Finneran who is on loan at Notts County. Like Munda Finneran is getting a lot of game time in fact he has played 90 minutes in all 5 appearances for Notts County which is great to see and he will be with Ireland U21s during the International Break. Deep diving into his stats courtesy  of the Notts County Website he has got 79% Passing 140/177 83% Shooting Accuracy 50 tackling including 30 duels won. I had a little look at what it said about each game

Burton Albion (2-1 Win): Signed on the morning of the match and went straight into the starting XI. Finneran earned "glowing reviews" and was praised for a complete, mature performance that helped secure a comeback victory.

Doncaster Rovers (1-1 Draw): Helped dictate the tempo away from home as the team battled to a hard-earned point.

Huddersfield Town (1-1 Draw): Maintained structural stability in front of the back line against a tough, physical opponent.

Bradford City (1-0 Loss): Suffered his first defeat with the Magpies, but his individual retention metrics remained strong.

Reading (2-0 Loss): Played the full 90 minutes in a difficult away defeat, continuing to log vital senior minutes under his belt.

Ousmane Diabate
Ousmane Diabate

Now to a player who we have signed but who won’t be with us until next season Ousmane Diabate is out on loan at Turkish side Genclerbirlgi (Apologies if I have miss pronounced that.) and his stats are very impressive. He has played 6 games for them this season with 1 goal and 1 assist but what stands out from his stats to me is that he has been getting 7+flashscore ratings even when his side isn’t winning. One match in particular they were beaten 5-0 by Trabzonspor but Diabate played 75 Minutes and scored a 7.8 Rating. Looking into that further despite the battering they received he got a passing accuracy of 99% 49/50 Defending he won 50% of his dues and got 8 recoveries too. An AI Search about his season has said The local fan base is absolutely delighted with his maturity, especially given that he only broke into the senior squad earlier in 2026. Supporters have lauded his spatial awareness and tackling ability, which have allowed their unfancied squad to sit joint-top of the table alongside Galatasaray. However, the sentiment is bittersweet; fans are already treating his performances with a sense of "enjoy him while he lasts," fully aware that Newcastle possess a mid-season recall clause for January 2027. Seeing all the stats and that little AI search he is definitely a player I’m excited to keep a track on and see if he continues that form throughout the season.

Alex Murphy
Alex Murphy

Alex Murphy is on loan at Bundesliga two side Kaislaslarten and has appeared 4 times for the German side. He got an assist on his debut as they went through in the cup and most recently got a 7.9 Flashscore rating as Kaisslaurten won 1-0. Looking at the stats from that game his Passing looked good but also he defended well with decent numbers for Duels, Interceptions clearances and recoveries to name a few of the stats.

AI Report on Murphy Kaisslareten been thoroughly impressed by Murphy's physical profile and immediate adaptability. Delivering an assist in a high-stakes, riot-marred derby match instantly bought him immense goodwill. Following his stable 90-minute performance against Braunschweig in front of 44,000 fans, local supporters have praised his composure, heavily backing him as a crucial component of Kaiserslautern's push toward the top of the table

Antonio Cordero
Antonio Cordero

Antonio Cordero is a player who is never to far from the discussion when talking out young players and he is back out on loan at Cadiz this season. He has appeared 7 times totalling 447 minutes for the Spanish La Liga two side and has 1 goal and one assist. Another little AI Search about Cordero has said In mid-September, The Manager moved Cordero to the bench for matches against UD Las Palmas and Girona FC, utilizing him as an impact substitute instead. Some sections of the fan base believe he should start to give the attack more flare, while others agree that tactical patience is required for the teenager

Jasmine Mcquade
Jasmine Mcquade

So onto a Loan from the Lasses Jasmine Mcquade is out on Loan at Hibernian women and she has started well scoring 3 goals and setting up 2 already for the Scottish SWPL side. The scores I can get for them from Flashscores and check the Hibernian Women’s Twitter Page.

Sean Neave
Sean Neave

Sean Neave is a player we all want to see do well but so far for Wolves he has made 3 appearances but 2 of those appearances were Microwave minutes as Newcastle Fan Fordy likes to say. (Go check out his channel) He did play the full 90 against Everton in the League cup getting a 5.9 rating. Will he get a chance for a run of games at Wolves and if he doesn’t we have to recall him the same for the next player on the list.

Leo Shahar
Leo Shahar

Leo Shahar is out on loan at Portuguese side Arouca and unfortunately hasn’t played any games for them or been in the squad as of yet. That’s disappointing but don’t know the status of Leo but similar to Neave you would hope he could be recalled if not playing.

Nick Woltemade
Nick Woltemade

Nick Woltemade moved to Juventus on loan and did score a penalty for them in the Europa League. However his total minutes so far in the 4 games he has appeared have only amounted to 131 minutes in total. With the games coming thick and fast for any side in Europe it will be interesting to see if he can establish himself in their first team and from a Newcastle point either come back for us ready to be in the first team or to sell and recuperate some of the large outlay we spent on him.

So that’s it for the Loan round up some of those players will also be out on international duty as well so will look to see what kind of game time they get for there countries.

How would you rate the current success of our Loans overall?

If this is something you would like to see more of or even a regular show on Newcastle Fans TV extra alongside the academy show please let us know.
